The BS6 iterations are around Rs 3,300 to Rs 3,600 dearer
After unveiling the Suzuki Gixxer 250 BS6 and the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 BS6 at Auto Expo 2020, the Japanese brand has finally launched them in the country. Here’s a detailed price list with differences over the BS4-compliant counterparts:
Both the Suzuki Gixxer 250 and the Gixxer SF 250 are available in two colours: silver and black. We’d have liked it if the brand had given the much better-looking 2020 Suzuki MotoGP livery in the Gixxer SF 250 MotoGP Edition. Interestingly, the Suzuki GSX-R150 gets this livery in select Southeast Asian markets. Suzuki says over 50 per cent of its dealerships are currently online in compliance with the latest government regulations, after the COVID-19 lockdown relaxations. The Japanese brand will start dispatching the bikes in the coming week and begin deliveries from mid-June.
The Suzuki Gixxer 250 twins use a 249cc BS6-compliant single-cylinder, fuel-injected unique oil-cooled engine. It makes the same power as before -- 26.5PS at 9300rpm. However, the peak torque is slightly less -- 22.2Nm at 7300rpm compared to 22.6Nm on the BS4-compliant version. The motor retains the same 6-speed transmission.

Other than these changes, the bikes remain virtually the same both in terms of underpinnings as well as design. The two bikes get a telescopic front fork, rear monoshock, and disc brake on both ends with dual-channel ABS. The two bikes get an LED headlamp and tail lamp, and a fully digital instrument instrument cluster.
The Suzuki Gixxer 250 BS6 goes up against the Bajaj Dominar 250, Royal Enfield Classic 350, Jawa Forty Two, and the upcoming Yamaha FZ25 BS6 while the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 BS6 takes on the KTM RC 200.
