The popular family-oriented scooter, the Suzuki Access 125 has been spotted testing again. The Access 125 has been due for an update for a long time. With Suzuki's competitors updating their line-up, it's high time for Suzuki to step up their game too.
The latest spy shot of the upcoming Access 125 reveals a new design which looks quite modern and sporty compared to the outgoing model. The headlight cowl looks chunkier, paired with a rectangular LED headlight and the front apron is redesigned too. Moving to the back, the scooter gets a spacious seat with a single-piece grab rail similar to what we see in the current Access 125.
From the previous spy shots, it is clear that the overall rear section remains mostly unchanged. Only the rear mudguard and exhaust heat shield are redesigned. Additionally, There are LED lights at the rear too, with a possibility of a hazard light feature.
Other than these design changes, we don’t see anything different in the scooter. The upcoming scooter will likely be powered by the same 124cc single-cylinder engine that is paired with a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission). The engine makes 8.7PS and 10Nm. We would like to see some optimisation done to the engine and transmission to make it more fuel efficient.
In terms of features, it has a semi-digital enabling smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth for turn-by-turn navigation, call/SMS/ WhatsApp alerts, overspeeding alerts, trip sharing and last parked location. While displaying basic features for everyday use. The scooter is built on an underbone frame and is suspended on a telescopic fork and single shock absorber. It rolls on a 12-inch wheel at the front and a 10-inch alloy wheel at the rear.
The Access 125 rivals the likes of other family scooters like the Honda Activa 125 and TVS Jupiter 125, as well as electric scooter options like the Ather Rizta.
