Tech-laden Honda Activa Confirmed; Launch This Year
Honda will finally introduce smartphone connectivity on its popular scooter
At the launch of the Honda Shine 100, the company has confirmed that an update to the Honda Activa is on the cards. While the launch timeline hasn’t been announced, the scooter could hit the streets this festive season.
The upcoming Honda Activa will sport an all-new digital instrument console with smartphone connectivity. Though it is too early to speculate what features it could pack, bits like call/SMS alerts and battery and network status could make it to the scooter.
Honda filed a trademark for its ‘RoadSync’ connectivity suite in India, but it is unlikely that the company would introduce music control and turn-by-turn navigation on the Activa. Although, having these features would bring it neck-to-neck with the TVS Jupiter ZX SmartXonnect.

But this connectivity module has limited features and they’re not all that convenient, too.
The Honda Activa is currently priced at Rs 74,536 for the STD variant and at Rs 80,537 for the recently launched H-Smart trim. We expect the upcoming model to demand Rs 6,000 over the H-Smart. For perspective, the TVS Jupiter ZX SmartXonnect is priced at Rs 87,123 (all prices ex-showroom Delhi). It would be interesting to see what other changes Honda will introduce with this model.
