The Most Awaited India bound 250cc, Yamaha R25 Production version Revealed

We all aware about that the Japanese auto giant, Yamaha has already unveiled the Prototype of the most awaited 250cc, R25 at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show. Now, the Japanese magazine has revealed the production version of the bike, which is much different than the prototype. The model showcased at the show was looking based on the company's MotoGP machine YZR-M1, while the production version unveiled by the company is looking based on the YZF series of the company.

All the design elements and body panels are quite similar to the YZF-R15 including the front fascia and headlamps. However, it boasts an all new 249cc, 4-stroke, liquid cooled, parallel twin engine, which is expected to churn out a maximum power of more than 30bhp. The engine will be mated with a 6-speed gearbox, which is provided with a claw shift lever. According to the magazine, overall dimensions of the bike are 2000mm X 720mm X 1140mm (Length X Width X Height).

The bike has been made on a light weight frame supported by telescopic forks on the front wheel, while using a single shock suspension with aluminium swing-arm on the rear wheel. The bike sports disc brakes on the both front and the rear wheels which might be assisted by optional ABS technology.

We are expecting the bike to be showcased at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo. In India, existing rivals of the Yamaha R25 will be Honda CBR250R, Kawasaki Ninja 300, Hyosung GT250R and KTM Duke 390, while Bajaj Pulsar 375, KTM RC 390 and Suzuki Inazuma are the upcoming rivals of the bike. It is expected to be launched in India between a price range of Rs. 2-2.5 lakh.
