They come with light, off-road friendly underpinnings and get an 80kmph claimed top speed
Amid Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the Ukrainian soldiers have resorted to using e-bikes to transport weapons and aid. These modified e-bikes, unlike the petrol-powered two-wheelers, are difficult to spot and are extremely silent, helping Ukrainian soldiers move around without being spotted on the Russian soldiers’ radar.
The e-bikes being used are the Top 3.0 Ebike by Delfast, a Ukraine-based EV startup. The Top 3.0 Ebike is basically an electric bicycle with insane off road capabilities. It equips a very minimalistic body design, which is essentially a cycle frame with body panels.
It is propelled by an electric motor that can produce a continuous power of 3kW and peak power of 6kW with an insane torque of 182Nm at the wheel. This allows the e-bike to achieve a top speed of 80kmph in the Ultimate mode. It gets two more speed modes; Limited (restricted to 24kmph) and Eco (restricted to 32kmph). It also gets three ride modes; Pedal only, Pedal Assist and Full Throttle.
The motor is paired to a 72V 60A lithium-ion battery pack with a battery management system. The e-bike offers a claimed range of 321km, in ideal conditions. Which is similar to what full-fledged electric cars offer. Moreover, if you do run out of juice, you can still keep going courtesy of the pedals.

Underpinned by a tubular steel spatial frame, the e-bike is suspended on a USD fork up front with a 203mm of travel and a monoshock at the rear. This setup makes it properly off road friendly. It gets 203mm discs on both ends for anchorage. The e-bike rolls on 19 inch spoke wheels.
In terms of features, the Delfast Top 3.0 Ebike comes packed with a fully digital instrument cluster with a proprietary built 3G navigation system. More features include a start-stop button, weather alerts, all LED lighting, remote lock-unlock, and a bike alarm.
The e-bike is priced at an equivalent of Rs 5.11 lakh, which seems pricey for an e-bike, but it also flaunts some impressive specs and features with go-anywhere ability. Moreover, the Ukrainian soldiers have been reportedly carrying anti-tank weapons on these tiny little runners, which should give you a hint of just what these e-bikes are capable of.
