These Gogoro Scooters Will Have A Higher Top Speed Than The TVS iQube
Homologation documents of the Gogoro 2 and 2 Plus have surfaced online
Taiwanese electric scooter and battery swapping tech firm, Gogoro, announced its India entry in a partnership with Zypp Electric in the B2B space late last year. Now, as per homologation documents, the Gogoro 2 and Gogoro 2 Plus have successfully received type approval in the country. That said, the scooters aren’t being manufactured in India. They come from Gogoro’s manufacturing plant in Taiwan, and are meant for a pilot run in the B2B logistics sector.
Talking about the e-scooters themselves, there are subtle differences between the two. While the 2 Plus makes 6.4kW, the Gogoro 2’s motor is capable of churning out 7.2kW (both continuous). That said, the former is rated to deliver a range of 94km, while the latter promises a claimed 85km. These figures put it in the ballpark of the likes of the TVS iQube S. What’s common between both variants is the 87kmph top speed, gross vehicle weight of 273kg (which includes the kerb weight of the scooter and the rider), 1,890mm length, 670mm width, and 1,110mm height.

While these e-scooters will not be launched for the general public anytime soon, the pilot run serves as the perfect platform for Gogoro to test out its capabilities on Indian road conditions. This way, the company will be able to iron out all the issues much before entering the private EV segment.
