TVS Electric Scooter Launching Tomorrow

It marks the start of TVS’ electric journey

The electric scooter was teased on social media a while ago. Two test mules were spotted near the factory. Expect it to bear a price tag of Rs 1 lakh.

TVS Motors is set to venture back into the electric space with its newest electric scooter that breaks cover tomorrow. The brand did try its luck with the Scooty Teenz but it was not popular. The TVS Creon concept was a good indication that TVS was going electric. However, we can safely assume that the electric scooter that the brand will launch tomorrow will not be as wild and radical as the Creon. So what will it be?

We have seen it, even though the video was very brief, roaming the streets of Hosur. The test mules were quick but did not look as sharp as the Creon. It looked more on the lines of a Jupiter gone electric. The scooter had a wide body with comfort and practicality coming to the fore. 

It is but obvious that TVS would go the family scooter route for its first proper electric two-wheeler as it would help the company gather crucial data on how Indian masses would adopt electric mobility. Going sporty would not strike the right cord with the masses who would want something that looks traditional and familiar. Going sporty would not be that much of a fuss for TVS . The brand has a rich racing heritage to bank on and it already has heavily invested in Ultraviolette Automotive, an electric startup that is focusing on performance electric two-wheelers.

Also, TVS must have been keeping a close eye on the Bajaj Chetak, as its new scooter would go up against the revived icon. While not forgetting Ather who is readying to bring out its latest iteration of the 450, called the 450X.
