It comes with a voice assist function whereby the user can issue voice commands using the SmartXonnect smartphone app via Bluetooth or wired earphones. The response is displayed on the instrument cluster and there's an audio feedback to the earphones too. Apart from this, it also gets navigation assist and SMS/ call alerts. Other notable features include a new dual tone seat (with a different pattern), and a cushioned backrest similar to the TVS Jupiter Classic. The ZX SmartXonnect variant is available in two colours: Copper Bronze and Matte Black.
The rest of it is the same as the ZX Disc variant, including the start-stop system, silent starter, LED headlight and tail lamp, 2-litre apron-mounted glovebox with mobile charging port, 21-litre underseat storage, and 220mm front disc. The ZX SmartXonnect retains the same 109.7cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine as the standard variant, churning out 7.88PS and 8.8Nm.
Now that it's more feature-laden than before the TVS Jupiter has the advantage over its best selling rival, the Honda Activa 6G. That said, it has become a lot more expensive; around Rs 8,600 dearer than the Honda Activa by around Rs 8,600. Even the sportier, more powerful and feature-packed TVS NTorq 125 Disc is priced around the same mark. More importantly, for just Rs 1,802 more, you can get the top-end TVS Jupiter 125, which however, may not be as tech-loaded but offers a lot more practicality.
