TVS NTorq 125 Drum Brake Variant Launched
Both disc and drum variants receive CBS updates
New variant is priced at Rs 58,252 (ex-showroom Delhi). You save Rs 1648 over the disc variant. It misses out on some convenience features. Both variants get CBS with no changes in price for the disc variant.TVS has launched a more affordable variant of the NTorq 125 scooter which comes with drum brakes on both ends. This variant costs Rs 58,252, Rs 1,648 lesser than the disc brake-equipped variant. TVS has also equipped both variants with its combined braking system, with no changes reported in the Rs 59,900 (all prices ex-showroom Delhi) price of the disc variant.
The drum brake variant misses out on an underseat light, USB charger as well as an engine-kill switch. These small convenience changes should not affect the overall appeal of the scooter though.
Thankfully, the underpinnings remain unchanged with the same 124.8cc engine producing 9.4PS and 10.5Nm. The 12-inch wheels are a big boon for our roads with the suspension setup just right for a balance between sportiness and everyday usability.
So, does the TVS NTorq 125 drum variant make sense? Well, not really. Given the fact that it misses out on some features and most importantly the added safety of a disc brake, we would still recommend you spend that extra bit and get the disc variant.
