Upcoming Hero Xoom 125 Spied, Could It Be An Aprilia SR 125 Rival?
The scooter appears to be different from the design patent that recently surfaced online
A new sporty scooter from Hero has been spotted in Jaipur. The bikemaker had earlier revealed that it will be launching a 125cc version of the Hero Xoom 110 later this year, and the test mule is likely to be the same. It could be called the Hero Xoom 125. Unlike the earlier design patent, this scooter has a relatively more subdued appearance.
The scooter has a muscular and sporty-looking apron, but its floorboard is relatively short, giving it a more compact appearance. The side panels are bulky yet muscular, featuring multiple cuts and slashes. Notably, the scooter seems to have large 14-inch wheels. It also sports split grab rails and a contoured single-piece seat. The presence of LED indicators suggests that the headlight and tail light may also be LED units. The instrument cluster is expected to be a full-LCD unit, possibly with smartphone connectivity with turn-by-turn navigation.
Additional features include a telescopic fork with a front disc, cubby holes on the apron, a rear mono-shock, and a sleek exhaust. With its larger wheels and sporty bodywork, the upcoming 125cc Hero scooter seems to be a direct rival to the Aprilia SR125. Other alternatives include the TVS NTorq 125, Suzuki Burgman Street, Honda Grazia, and Yamaha RayZR 125 Fi Hybrid.
The Hero Xoom 125 is anticipated to have an ex-showroom price of around Rs 90,000-95,000 and could be launched in December of this year. This scooter offers Hero another opportunity to enter the sporty 125cc segment, which the Hero Maestro Edge 125 was not able to crack successfully.
