Modified On Feb 15, 2023 03:09 PM By Bernard Mascarenhas for Bajaj Chetak [2020 - 2024]

This electric scooter is said to offer an increase in range as per a leaked homologation document

A leaked homologation document of a new Bajaj Chetak has surfaced online, revealing some interesting details of the upcoming electric scooter. The updated Chetak will offer an improved range, a much needed update to help it take the fight to its rivals.

The current IDC range of the Chetak stands at 90km in Eco mode, and as per the leaked homologation document, the updated electric scooter will offer a claimed IDC range of 108km. The details in the document show the battery pack to remain the same unit, hence, indicating that the increase in range can be credited to a new Battery Management System (BMS).

Apart from the increase in range, the Chetak will continue to retain the same mechanicals. However, the updated scooter is officially called the ‘2423’, which would be the third gen after the ‘2403 and 2413’ generations of Chetak electric scooters.

The updated Chetak is expected to be launched in March without any substantial hike in its current price tag of Rs 1,51,958 (ex-showroom Delhi including subsidies). Despite the increase in range, the Chetak continues to fall short of its rivals in the same price range like the Ather 450X, Hero Vida V1 and Ola S1 Pro.
