Here’s a quick look at all that happened in the two-wheeler space this week

Last week turned out to be action packed with two old rivals and classic icons introducing their respective entrants for the forthcoming year. And, the hype was real! This week isn’t any different as we had a couple of manufacturers like Ducati launching the Panigale V4 R and UM teasing an ADV for India. While others gave us a gilmpse of what we can expect in the next couple of months. So just in case you missed out, here’s a summary what all the two-wheeler action that transpired during this week.

 

KTM 200 Duke gets single-channel ABS

KTM has launched the 200 Duke in India with the safety net of ABS. The additional equipment pushes the price to Rs 1.6 lakh, which is around Rs 8,000 more than the standard variant. Aside from this, though, the bike remains unchanged. The standard model will continue to be sold alongside the ABS variant until 1st April 2019. For more information on pricing, click here.

 

After Jawa, Classic Legends lines up BSA and Yezdi for India

Ducati launches the ludicrous Panigale V4 R in India

Italian bikemaker Ducati has launched the homologation special Panigale V4 R in India, priced at Rs 51.87 lakh (ex-showroom India). Only 5 units are allocated for India and bookings for this exclusive bike has already started at all Ducati dealerships in India. Deliveries will begin in the first quarter for 2019 for bookings before 30th November; for bookings post this date, deliveries will commence in the second quarter of 2019. UM adventure motorcycle India launch confirmed

UM has announced that it will soon be launching a new small-capacity adventure tourer for India. Though the manufacturer hasn’t given us a name, we expect the bike to be the DSR Adventure TT which was unveiled quite recently at this year’s EICMA motorcycle show. Going by its small capacity 125cc liquid-cooled engine that produces 14.9PS and 10.9Nm of torque, it will go up against the Hero Xpulse 200 and the Royal Enfield Himalayan. Hero XPulse 200 & XPulse 200T spied

The much-awaited budget adventure tourers from Hero, the XPulse 200 & XPulse 200T, have been spotted testing in India and look near-production-ready. The Xpulse 200 is the more off-road biased of the two while the 200T is inclined more towards the tarmac bits. Both bikes share the same engine and feature a full-digital instrument console, a flyscreen and a top rack. That said, there are a couple of components that differentiate the two - here’s everything you need to know about them.

 

TVS launches 2019 Apache RTR 180

The Hosur-based manufacturer has launched the MY2019 Apache RTR 180 that features a new colour scheme and additional accessories over the outgoing model. The feature list includes a white backlit instrument console, seats with Alcantara-like finish, a crash guard with integrated frame sliders, forged handlebar end weights.
