Catch up on all that happened in the two-wheeler world last week

The second week of July 2021 was a rather busy one for us as there were many interesting happenings. Couldn’t keep up with them? Fret not, here’s a wrap of all the juicy bits from the two-wheeler world in the last seven days:

Ola Electric Scooter Makes A Public Appearance

The Ola Electric scooter was by far the most trending topic in the past seven days. First, the company filed trademarks for three new names and then announced the pre-bookings at just Rs 499. Topping all this off was a public sighting of the Ola e-scooter during a supposed advertisement shoot. The sighting gave away many crucial bits about the scooter, like its range, colour options, and features.

Suzuki Burgman Electric Spotted Yet Again!

Ola isn’t the only brand focusing on EVs, as Suzuki was also spotted testing its Burgman Electric scooter. This time around, though, the scooter seems more than ready for its official launch. The scooter could come with a similar design to its petrol-powered sibling, LED illumination, a digital instrument cluster, and a front disc brake. Check out the exclusive photos in our story.

Honda’s Affordable ADV For India

The Honda Hornet 2.0 has proven to be a potent motorcycle, so Honda is now working on introducing its ADV counterpart, which could be called the NX200. Its launch is expected in August 2021, and it could come at a premium of around Rs 15,000 over the Hornet. For more details, head here.

KTM 250 Adventure Prices Slashed

In a surprise move, KTM has slashed the prices of the 250 Adventure by Rs 25,000 to promote sales and clear underlying stocks. The bike now retails at Rs 2.30 lakh (ex-showroom), which is just Rs 2,000 more than the 250 Duke. However, there’s a catch to this, as this is valid only from July 14 to August 31, 2021, making it a limited period offer. Further details are available in our story.

Maharashtra Introduces New EV Policy

Numerous states in India have announced special policies for electric vehicles to promote sales. The latest to jump on the bandwagon is Maharashtra. This week, the state announced its subsidy schemes, including benefits of up to Rs 44,000 for electric two-wheelers. And even the road tax has been waived from EVs.
