The Aerox 155 is available with a minimum waiting period of 15 days in Chennai, followed by a month in Hyderabad and three months in Mumbai. However, customers in Bangalore will have to wait for three to four months to get their hands on the scooter.
The Aerox 155 is one of the most expensive and powerful maxi-scooters you can buy in India. It draws power from the same 155cc liquid-cooled engine as the YZF-R15 Version 4.0. This engine, assisted by VVA, churns out 15PS and 13.9Nm.
On the features front, it comes equipped with idle-stop/start, silent engine start, a step-up-type seat, a storage space with a USB charging port, an external fuel filler lid, side stand engine cut-off, 24.5-litre underseat storage, single-channel ABS, and a 5.8-inch fully digital Bluetooth-enabled instrument cluster. However, there's no turn-by-turn navigation.
The Yamaha Aerox 155 is offered in two variants: Standard and MotoGP Edition, priced at Rs 1.29 lakh and 1.30 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), respectively. The Standard variant gets two paint options (Racing Blue and Grey Vermillion), and the MotoGP Edition gets the Black Metallic and Monster Energy colours, the same as the YZR-M1.
The Yamaha Aerox 155 competes with the Aprilia SR160 in India.
