Yamaha Force X vs TVS NTorq 125: Photo Comparison

Here is how the Japanese ADV scooter fares against the Desi NTorq 125 in pictures

Yamaha has recently launched the Force X in China, an adventure themed scooter aimed to attract off road enthusiasts. It is the perfect 125cc alternative to the Honda ADV 150, however, it rivals the very capable TVS NTorq 125 here in India. And this is how both the scooters stack up against each other.

In terms of appearance, the Force X adopts a slightly funky looking design with bold styling. The NTorq 125, on the other hand, employs a more sporty looking design with sharp edges and sleek body panels. Both the scooters get a single piece fascia mounted headlight.

For a sportier appeal, the NTorq 125 gets body graphics that complement its performance scooter appeal. Whereas the Force X looks clean and classy with minimalist styling.

Features is where the Force X falls behind. Even though it does get a digital instrument cluster, there is no mention of smartphone and Bluetooth based connectivity.

Whereas the TVS NTorq 125 boasts a Bluetooth-enabled instrument cluster with turn-by-turn navigation, an engine kill switch, two riding modes: Street and Race (only Race XP variant), and 22-litres under-seat storage that comes with a USB charger and an illumination light.

Powering the Yamaha Force X is a 125cc air-cooled Blue Core hybrid engine, same as the India-spec RayZR 125 and Fascino 125. It produces 8.29PS and 9.7Nm.

The TVS NTorq's reliable 124.8cc motor produces slightly more power and torque at 9.38PS and 10.5Nm.

Both the scooters are suspended on a telescopic fork up front and a monoshock at the rear. Even the braking duties are handled by a similar set up: Disc up front and drum brake at the rear. However, the Force X rolls on smaller 10 inch wheels as compared to NTorq 125’s 12 inch wheels.

There is one thing at which the Yamaha Force X excels, being lightweight. Weighing at 92kg (kerb), the Force X is the lightest in the segment, much lighter than NTorq’s 116kg kerb weight. This will help in performance and will also make the scooter extremely noble and agile.

Summing up, the Force X is only available in the Chinese domestic market and is priced at 8,980 Yuan ( around Rs 1.07 lakh). The TVS NTorq 125 retails in India at Rs 75,445.
