Yamaha had recently launched the FZ-Fi v.3.0 and are now giving enthusiasts a premium 150cc offering in the form of the MT-15. It is essentially the naked version of the faired R15 v3.0. Like the new R15, it gets premium bits like LED projector headlamps and full digital instrument console. Highlights are the 155cc liquid cooled motor that gets variable valve timing to give performance throughout the rev range.

Yamaha already sells this model in the Thai and Indonesian markets. According to leaked documents, the India-spec model gets the same 19.3PS and 15Nm as the one sold abroad. However, to keep costs low, the one coming here gets conventional forks and a box-type swingarm instead of upside down forks and cast aluminium swingarm on the international spec models. You still get the deltabox frame and rear monoshock from the R15 and that should aid in the handling department. It is expected to get the dual-channel ABS setup from the R15 v3.0 as well. Expect dynamics and performance to be on par with the R15 v3.0.
