Yamaha RayZR Fi Hybrid Review: Photo Gallery

Let's take a closer look at Yamaha’s sportiest 125cc scooter for India

Yamaha launched its second 125cc scooter, the RayZR 125 FI Hybrid, in the Indian market in September 2021 . The scooter is available in a total of four variants (Drum, Disc, MotoGP and Street Rally) and eight colour options (Cyan Blue, Red, Black, Yellow, MotoGP, Racing Blue, Copper and Green colour). To know more about the Yamaha RayZR Fi Hybrid, today at BikeDekho we bring you a detailed photo gallery of the same.

The 125cc scooter gets a sharp and rugged design thanks to a few cuts and creases and bulky panels. The fascia of the RayZR 125 Hybrid features a windscreen, Y-shaped LED DRL and an LED headlight that illuminates the road pretty well.

The Street Rally variant also comes equipped with knuckle guards, a slightly redesigned apron, side panels and block-pattern tyres.

The Yamaha RayZR 125 Hybrid is powered by a 125cc air-cooled engine that churns out 8.2PS and 10.3Nm.

As the name suggests, it comes with hybrid technology that lends it brisk acceleration from a standstill, and it surely isn't a gimmick as it was about 0.2 seconds quicker than the standard RayZR in our 20-50kmph test.

Overall, we found its performance to be lacking compared to its rivals, but also learnt that no other scooter can deliver the level of efficiency this one does. In our mileage test, the RayZR 125 Hybrid delivered an astonishing 71kmpl, which is by far the best we have tested.

On the features front, it gets an idle stop-start system, silent engine start, side stand engine cut-off, a 21-litre underseat storage and a fully digital Bluetooth-enabled instrument cluster that can be paired with your smartphone via the Yamaha Connect X app.

The Yamaha Connect X app enables features such as Ride History, Locate My Vehicle, Hazard Lamp function, Answer Back, and Parking Record for added convenience. However, there’s no turn-by-turn navigation.

The ride of the 125cc scooter is taken care of by telescopic forks which are tuned to be slightly on the stiffer side and at the rear it mounts a monoshock unit that is tuned to be on the softer side to provide better comfort.

Braking hardware remains the same, with a 190mm disc or a drum up front, and a drum at the rear. When we tested the disc brake variant, we found that it provides decent stopping power, as it managed to stop a little better than the Street Rally version we had tested earlier, though that could be down to the more road-biased tyres on this one.

The price of the Yamaha RayZR Fi Hybrid starts at Rs 76,830 and goes to Rs 83,830 for the Street Rally variant. So to conclude things, if you are looking to buy a scooter with futuristic styling, a refined engine and one that delivers stellar mileage figures, then the Yamaha RayZR 125 Hybrid is a scooter you shouldn't ignore.
