Yamaha Tracer 7, Tracer 9 GT Plus And Niken GT Updated Ahead Of EICMA 2022

The bikes flaunt a bunch of new fancy hardware and functional updates

Yamaha has pulled the big move before EICMA 2022 by unveiling the updated Tracer 7, Tracer 9 GT Plus and Niken GT with a host of new tech and functional upgrades, making them more wholesome than ever. Here’s what's new on the bikes

Tracer 7 and 7 GT

To make it an even better sport tourer, Yamaha has updated the Tracer 7 and 7 GT with a retuned fully adjustable front suspension. It also gets larger 298mm dual front discs to improve the braking department. 

The other upgrade that’s welcome on the bike is a new five-inch TFT console which now comes with smartphone connectivity. The console can be viewed in two themes: Sports and Touring, and it shows call and message notifications. Apart from these changes, the rest of the bike remains unchanged, including the engine and output figures.

Tracer 9 GT Plus

For 2023, the Yamaha Tracer 9 GT Plus becomes more premium than ever with a bunch of functional updates. Firstly, It is the first Yamaha motorcycle to feature Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and comes equipped with KYB electronically controlled semi-active suspension and radar-linked front/rear assisted Unified Brake System (which detects objects around it via radar and controls braking and suspension accordingly). It also gets a seven-inch TFT display with smartphone connectivity and Garmin full-screen navigation.

The powertrain remains unchanged – 890cc liquid-cooled three-cylinder engine making 119PS and 93Nm.

Niken GT

The biggest update that the Yamaha Niken GT witnesses is the change in the heart - a new 890cc three-cylinder Euro5 engine producing 114.9PS and 90.7Nm. Similar to the Tracer 9, the Niken, too, features a seven-inch TFT display with smartphone connectivity and Garmin full-screen navigation. Other upgrades also include revised electronics, seat and suspension, and adjustable windscreen.

Summing up, the pricing of all three models is yet to be announced, and the Tracer 9 GT Plus will be available in European dealerships starting January 2023.
