The bike has been designed for Italian rock singer Vasco Rossi and renamed as the Yamaha 847 R
Some of you may not have heard of the Yamaha Tracer 900 GT, and rightly so since it isn’t available in India. It’s based on the MT-09 but uses longer travel suspension and a design that’s more suited for long distance touring. The bike is fantastic as is, but the folks from D&G Motorsport have now kicked it up a notch by designing a custom Tracer 900 GT, a.k.a the Yamaha 847 R, for Italian rock singer Vasco Rossi. There are certain design elements that need explaining, so we’ve compiled a number of detailed pictures to do just that.
The idea behind the custom build was to combine Japanese efficiency with Italian flair
Oscar Tasso, the brainchild behind the Yamaha 847 R, used a sinister black paint scheme with forged rims in a contrasting golden livery.
The forks thankfully feature the same paint scheme as the wheels, giving the bike a premium look.
D&G Motorsport also went as far as swapping out the standard alloy wheels for stainless steel spokes.
The standard exhaust has been replaced by a full Akrapovic exhaust system, helping the motorcycle shed some weight. It should also give the bike a couple of extra ponies to play with.
The rest of the bike remains unchanged, which means it’s powered by a 847cc inline three-cylinder liquid-cooled DOHC motor that makes around 115.5PS of peak power and 88Nm of torque.
Rider aids include a quickshifter (QSS) for seamless upshifts, different ride modes, traction control and cruise control.
The Tracer 900 GT also comes equipped with colour matched hard side cases as standard.
Other notable features include a full-colour TFT instrument console, heated grips, a 12V DC power outlet, and an adjustable windscreen.
If that’s not enough, the Tracer 900 GT also comes with a fully adjustable USD fork and a monoshock with remote preload adjuster
Now, here’s the good news. If you like Vasco Rossi’s new set of wheels, you too could put in an order for the Yamaha 847 R. These lucky customers will receive their names engraved on the plate showing the bike’s serial number. There’s one problem though, there’s no word on the price of this custom Tracer 900.
