Yet Another PureEV Scooter Burns To A Crisp

Modified On May 16, 2022 05:50 PM By Aamir Momin for PURE EV Epluto 7G

This time the fire incident took place in Hyderabad

As the summer heat has gradually increased, with heat waves flowing through multiple parts of the country, the EV fire incidents have spread out, too. A PureEV EPluto 7G has gone up in flames and a video of the same has been circulating the internet of late. Mercifully, nobody was injured due to the fire accident.

The incident took place on May 11 in Hyderabad and the video of the electric vehicle (EV) catching fire and burning was reportedly shot by the owner of the scooter who had purchased it recently for Rs 90,000.

According to the owner of the said scooter, the EV suddenly stopped working and when he inspected the battery compartment, smoke emanated and shortly after, the EV went up in flames.

This is not the first case of the said model of the scooter catching fire as something similar has happened before. We had gotten in touch with the EV manufacturer after the first scooter caught fire and this is what they said. PureEV had also recalled about 2,000 electric scooters for a thorough checkup.

Other than PureEV, scooters from EV manufacturers like Ola Electric, Okinawa Autotech and JitendraEV too, have caught fire recently. Some of the EV fires have been fatal, and have caused injuries to owners, which really raises the safety concerns with regard to usage of EVs.
