Okinawa Okhi90

The Okinawa Okhi90 electric scooter was launched in India at Rs 1,21,866, (pan-India, including FAME II subsidy) earlier this year. It is the company’s flagship electric scooter, with several segment-first features. 

Okinawa Okhi90 Price:

The Okinawa Okhi90 is priced at Rs 1,21,866, pan-India, including FAME 2 subsidy. However, as per FAME 2 website, the subsidy (which is Rs 54,000) has expired, so expect the final price to be much higher. The Okhi90 is available in a range of colours: Glossy Wine Red, Glossy Pearl White, Glossy Ash Grey, and Glossy Jewellery Blue.

Okinawa Okhi90 Features:

Okinawa has equipped the Okhi90 with an all-LED lighting system. The LED headlight features a light sensor to detect the ambient light and adjusts accordingly. Other notable features include OTA updates, an underseat USB charging port, a massive 40-litre underseat storage with boot light, twin apron-mounted utility hooks, an apron-mounted glove box, an illuminated key slot with keyless operation, and a fully digital instrument cluster with turn-by-turn navigation and smartphone connectivity. Thanks to the connectivity, users can access music control, battery charge status, call notification, error notification, anti-theft alarm, geo-fencing, ‘find my vehicle’, maintenance reminder, among others.

Okinawa Okhi90 Powertrain:

The Okhi90 is powered by a centrally-mounted 3.8kW electric motor linked to a 72V, 50Ah removable lithium-ion battery pack. The e-scooter gets two modes: Eco and Sport. In the former, the claimed top speed stands at 55-60kmph, and in Sport mode, it can reach 85-90kmph. Okinawa claims it can reach 90kmph from standstill in just 10 seconds. The battery pack offers a claimed range of 160km and a charging time of 5-6 hours. 

Okinawa Okhi90 Suspension & Brakes:

The Okhi90 electric scooter employs a telescopic front fork, twin rear shock absorbers, disc brakes at both ends with CBS as standard. It rolls on massive 16-inch alloy wheels wrapped with tubeless tyres. The seat is 803mm tall, and the loading capacity stands at 150kg. At 175mm, the ground clearance is generous enough to tackle bad roads with ease too.

The Okhi90 competes with the BGauss D15, Ola S1 Pro, TVS iQube Electric, Bajaj Chetak. For around the same price bracket, you can also go for the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, Bajaj Pulsar N160 or the Aprilia SR 160.
