About Triumph Scrambler 900
Triumph has launched the 2021 Street Scrambler Gold Line edition in India. It gets quite some updates over the standard model. Here's how much it costs.
The Street Scrambler is also available in another limited edition version called the Street Scrambler Sandstrom edition at Rs 9,65,000 (ex-showroom India). You can read more about this 775-unit limited edition motorcycle here.
Triumph hasn’t changed much on the bike, which now runs cleaner with the BS6-compliant 900cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin motor producing 65PS and 80Nm. Most of the torque is available at as low as 3200 rpm. Underpinnings include a gaitered 41mm telescopic front fork with cartridge damping, twin rear shock absorbers, 19-inch front and 17-inch rear spoke wheels with Metzeler Tourance dual-purpose tyres, and a 310mm front disc with Brembo radial caliper and a 255mm disc at the rear.
The Ducati Scrambler 800 is the only rival to the Triumph Street Scrambler.

Scrambler 900 Expert Review
Overview
Triumph India has launched the 2019 Street Scrambler at Rs 8.55 lakh (ex-showroom) which is Rs 5,000 less than its previous iteration. The updated motorcycle was first showcased at the 2018 Intermot show in Cologne, Germany. It features minor design tweaks and a comprehensive set of mechanical updates. They include a redesigned Triumph logo on the fuel tank and side panels, a two-tone paint finish on the fuel tank and minor touches like a refreshed instrument console and brushed aluminium headlamp brackets.
It's 900cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin motor gets a lighter magnesium cover, lighter clutch and crankshaft plus a balancer shaft for improved refinement. Power is up from 55PS to 65PS while torque output remains the same at 80Nm. Lighter engine internals has allowed Triumph to increase rev limit by 500rpm, to 7500rpm. A significant update is the inclusion of two new rider modes: Road and Rain and Off-road.
The Street Scrambler now get new and wider spaced 41mm KYB front forks that get internal cartridge damping units. The rear still gets a conventional KYB monoshock. Improved braking is courtesy a new Brembo four-piston front caliper instead of the previous Nissin two-piston caliper. The rear Nissin calliper remains unchanged.
The Triumph Street Scrambler rivals the Ducati Scrambler which is due for an update this year.
Design
The Street Scrambler is based on the Street Twin. It gets off-road bits like rubber fuel tank grip pads, a split seat with a detachable pillion seat pad, high-rise handlebars, side-mounted high-set exhaust pipes and underbody bash plate. The on-off road tyres complete the Scrambler look.
Engine, Mileage & Performance
The motor is the same 900cc parallel twin unit as the Street Twin. The updated motor makes 65PS at 6000rpm and 80Nm of torque at a low 3200rpm. The motor gets ride-by-wire and a torque assist clutch. It gets three rider modes: Rain, Road and Off-road; and traction control that can be switched off.
Handling & Ride Quality
The Street Scrambler uses the Street Twin's chassis that has been strengthened and tuned for off-road usage. The front rake and trail have increased 24.3 degrees and 98.7mm respectively for better stability. The suspension setup is similar to the Street twin though the rear shocks get more travel. New for 2019 is wider spaced KTB internal cartridge forks. Braking is via a single front and single rear disc. You now have a Brembo four-piston caliper upfront instead of the previous Nissin two-piston caliper unit. It gets ABS that can be switched off.
