What are the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V variants?

The TVS Apache RTR 160 4V is available in six variants – Drum, Drum (Glossy Black), Disc, BT Disc, Special Edition and Dual Channel ABS. The base Drum variant gets a 270mm front petal disc and a 130mm rear drum brake. The Drum (Glossy Black) variant is based on the Drum variant but comes in an all-black glossy colour. Both the Drum variants are fitted with a 90-section front and a 110-section rear tubeless tyre.

The Disc variant has a 200mm rear petal disc brake. The BT Disc variant adds Bluetooth connectivity. The Special Edition includes these features with Matte Black paint and red accents, including red rims. The top Dual-channel ABS variant has all the features of the BT Disc and gets dual-channel ABS as standard. These variants get a wider 130-section radial tubeless rear tyre.

How does the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V perform in the city?

The TVS Apache RTR 160 4V has a 159.7cc, air/oil-cooled, 4-valve, single-cylinder engine that delivers 17.55PS and 14.73Nm in Sport mode, and 15.64PS and 14.14Nm in Urban/Rain mode. It is paired with a 5-speed gearbox. The engine is pretty refined and has enough power to ride around the city effortlessly. However, it delivers most of its power at the higher rpm, requiring you to rev it more to experience the engine’s performance.

Can you do highway rides on the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V?

The TVS Apache RTR 160 4V has sufficient power to handle highway rides as well. The bike does require you to rev it as the extra power kicks in higher up the rev range, which is best experienced by fully opening the throttle. It can cruise between 80-90kmph on the highway effortlessly. 

The Apache RTR 160 4V comes with an easy-to-reach handlebar and slightly rear-set foot pegs that provide a sporty yet comfortable riding posture. The BT Disc, Special Edition and the Dual-channel ABS variants get smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth which provides features like turn-by-turn navigation, call and SMS notifications, lap timer, lean angle mode, and a crash alert system, among others. Is the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V suitable for shorter riders?
