2024 saw the launch of some interesting performance-oriented two-wheelers in the Rs 1 lakh to Rs 2 lakh segment
2024 saw a lot of new bikes and scooters being launched in the Rs 1 lakh - Rs 2 lakh (ex-showroom) space. Here is a list of the most fun to ride ones among them:
Hero Xtreme 125R
The year started off strong with the launch of the Hero Xtreme 125R. The segment leader, the TVS Raider, finally got a new, tough competitor. This bike offers a good combination of styling, engine, handling, suspension, comfort and most importantly, the price.
Ather 450 Apex
The only EV on this list, Ather launched their most powerful scooter to date, the 450 Apex. It has a top speed of 100km/h and a 0-40km/h acceleration time of 2.9 seconds. It also has semi-transparent body panels and an exposed subframe.
Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z
The biggest capacity Pulsar till date and it arrived with very aggressive pricing. The Pulsar NS400Z is built on the same perimeter frame and gets the same engine as the Dominar 400. It also shares design similarities with the smaller Bajaj Pulsar NS line-up of bikes.
2024 Hero Xtreme 160R 4V & 2V
Hero MotoCorp launched the 2024 Xtreme 160R 4V and 2V in India, featuring updated colors, added features, and a redesigned tail section. The bikes now come with a single-piece seat, replacing the split-seat design. They also have a refreshed tail section with new taillight and rear panel styling. The updated Xtreme 160R 2V and 4V also include a drag timer in the instrument console.
Bajaj Pulsar N125
The 125cc sporty commuter segment became even more exciting with the launch of the Bajaj Pulsar N125. The N125 goes up against the likes of the TVS Raider and the Hero Xtreme 125R. The sharp and sleek styling makes it different from any other Pulsar in Bajaj’s lineup. It poses a big threat to its rivals in the engine, refinement, performance, handling, and weight department.
Honda CB300F Flex-Fuel
The Honda CB300F Flex-Fuel is India’s first 300cc flex-fuel motorcycle, capable of running on 85% ethanol and 15% petrol. It combines the practicality of a commuter bike with a hint of sportiness. It stands out as the only flex-fuel complaint bike in its segment and has no direct rivals.
TVS Apache RTR 160 4V With USD
TVS launched a new top variant of the Apache RTR 160 4V in India. The new model comes equipped with a 37mm gold coloured USD fork, and introduces 3 new paint options: Granite Grey, Matte Black, and Pearl White; all paired with red alloy wheels.
Hero Xpulse 200 4V Dakar Edition
Hero introduced a new Xpulse 200 4V Pro Dakar Edition in India. While it retains the same mechanical components as the standard Xpulse 200 4V Pro, it gets a new paint scheme inspired by the iconic Dakar Rally.
