2. How many variants does the Xtreme 160R have?
The Xtreme 160R is offered in 1 variant: the single disc variant. The Single disc variant offers a 276mm disc brake at the font and single-channel ABS as standard.
3. Does the Xtreme 160R look good?
The Xtreme 160R is a good looking bike, it features an aggressive looking design with the neat looking headlight and tank extensions. The bike manages to keep a compact profile overall and with the 2024 update, the taillight section has received a few minor changes that have added to this overall look.
The bike has good fit and finish levels, managing to offer that premium feel. Small bits like the ‘Xtreme’ badging on the tank and the red stripes that can be seen on its headlight cowl are well executed. At this price point, the Xtreme is able to offer a premium look and feel, which is quite commendable.
4. How many colours is the Xtreme 160R offered in?
With the 2024 update, the Hero Xtreme 160R is offered only in 1 colour: Stealth Black. The Stealth Black colour scheme offers a black finish overall, with red highlights on the rims, headlight cowl, tank extensions and the tail section. The colour scheme overall is quite subtle and not too flashy.
5. How good is the Xtreme 160R's performance?
The Xtreme 160R 2V is powered by a 163cc air-cooled, two-valve, single-cylinder engine which is paired with a 5-speed transmission. The engine produces 15.2PS at 8500rpm and 14Nm at 6500rpm, which is a decent performance for a 160cc bike.
6. Is the Xtreme 160R a good city bike?
The Xtreme 160R’s engine produces 15.2PS and 14Nm, which is good for city riding. The biggest complaint many people have about commuter bikes is the lack of power and torque which makes it important to plan overtakes much earlier. This isn't an issue with the Xtreme 160R as the bike has ample power and enough torque for quick overtakes in the city. In our experience the engine offers punchy performance and makes riding fun.
The bike is also quite manoeuvrable and cutting through traffic won’t be an issue. So overall, the Xtreme 160R with its decent power figures and good manoeuvrability makes for a good city bike.
7. Can the Xtreme 160R handle long trips?
The Xtreme 160R has good power and performance, which makes it good for longer trips as well. The 15.2PS power output is more than enough for the occasional weekend trips and also longer tours down the highway. The engine can easily handle highway speeds of up to 80kmph and hold the same for a long duration of time. So overall, the Xtreme 160R can handle long trips without much trouble, as long as you’re not expecting to ride continuously at triple-digit speeds.
8. Is the Xtreme 160R a comfortable bike?
The Xtreme 160R 2V is a comfortable bike and the 2024 update has brought a new seat which has a flatter profile. This updated seat also has a lower seat height of 790mm, making the bike more accessible to riders of all sizes. Another point that enhances the overall comfort is the plush suspension, which will be able to absorb most bumps and potholes on the road.
9. How does the Xtreme 160R handle?
The Xtreme 160R is a very easygoing bike and handles quite well. It comes off as very agile and nimble which makes cutting through traffic really easy. The suspension setup on the bike is well balanced, and it is able to absorb most bumps and potholes on the road. At the same time, the suspension setup is able to keep the bike stable at higher speeds and when cornering.
8. What features does the Xtreme 160R offer?
The Xtreme 160R features a fully digital instrument console that displays information like speed, tachometer readings, fuel level, and time. Along with this, the bike also gets a drag race timer, with 2 modes: D1 and D2. The D1 mode measures the bike's 0-60 kmph acceleration timing. The D2 mode on the other hand, measures the bike's quarter mile timing (0-402m). Overall, in terms of features the Xtreme 160R doesn't disappoint.
10. What are the alternatives to the Xtreme 160R?
The closest alternative to the Xtreme 160R 2V is the TVS Apache RTR 160 2V. It offers similar levels of performance but is significantly more expensive, starting at a price of Rs Rs 1,20,420 (ex-showroom Delhi),which is Rs 9,309 more. At this premium, the RTR 160 offers more features, and gets TVS SmartXonnect technology. This brings features such as call/SMS alerts and turn-by-turn navigation to the table.
