Benelli 302R Summary
A month after the images of the 2021 Benelli 302R leaked online, the Chinese brand has finally unveiled its entry level supersport. The bike has been thoroughly updated and is slated to launch in India by the end of this year. Read all about the new bike in this story.
The highlight of this model is the new design. Replacing the halogen units from the older model is the vertically-stacked projector headlamp, flanked by LED DRLs on either side and new LED tail light. The bodywork gets air vents to help channel the air around better. Benelli has, however, retained the same 14-litre fuel tank and side panels.
The 300cc, liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine is the same as the previous model, but now makes 35.35PS at 11,000rpm and 27Nm at 9,000rpm. This is 3.5PS less and 0.5Nm more than the current model. That said, the brand has compensated for the loss of power by shedding a whole 18kg off the motorcycle.
Suspension duties are handled by 41mm USD fork, however, now comes with preload adjustability. The rear monoshock is unchanged. The braking department too sees a slight update. Instead of the twin petal discs at up front, the bike now comes equipped with traditional rotors.
The 2021 Benelli 302R is likely to launch later this year and will carry a price tag of Rs 3.60 lakh. The bike will go up against the likes of the Kawasaki Ninja 300 and the KTM RC 390.

Benelli, in association with HDFC bank, is offering zero percent interest loans for its entry-level 302R. However, the loan can only be availed for an amount of upto 80 percent of the ex-showroom price of the bike and is only available for a tenure of one year. The EMI for the 302R would be around Rs 24,666.
Benelli had launched the 302 R at Rs 3.7lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India). Benelli dealerships across the country are accepting Rs 30,000 as booking amount. The 302R is a fully faired 300cc motorcycle that was first showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo. The bike gets the Benelli TNT 300i's 300cc liquid-cooled parallel twin motor that makes 38PS @ 11500rpm and 26.5Nm @ 10,000rpm. It gets a 6-speed gearbox. Other features include a trellis frame, upside down front forks and dual front disc brakes. The bike will get ABS as standard. When launched, the Benelli 302R will face competition from the Kawasaki Ninja 300 and KTM RC 390.
The 302R is an entry-level fully faired offering from the stable of the Italian motorcycle brand “Benelli”. It is a faired version of Benelli’s TNT 300 which is already available for sale in the Indian market.
The bike is propelled by a 300cc, inline two cylinder, liquid cooled, 4-stroke engine. The mill is mated to 6-speed transmission and belts out 34.81 bhp of power at 12000 rpm along with a peak torque of 27 Nm at 9000 rpm. The fuel injected mill has a compression ration of 12:01 and a power oriented bore x stroke ratio of 65 mm x 54.2 mm.
Tornado 302 share its design cues with its naked sibling TNT 300. The front profile of the bike is equipped with single headlight cluster and the rear view mirrors are mounted over the visor. It sports part-digital-part-analogue instrument cluster. The bike has also been fitted with a muscular fuel tank of 14 liters capacity and well-padded split step up seat. Talking about the rear, the bike features an LED tail lamp and rear fender integrated with clear lens turn blinkers.
Bolted on a Trestle in steel tube frame, it has an overall body dimension of 2175 mm in length, 746 mm in width and 1146 mm in height. A wheelbase of 1410 mm and a minimum ground clearance of 180 mm will ensure agile handling and sharp cornering. Its unladen weight is 180 kg.
The bike is equipped with 110/70 front and 150/60 rear Metzeler tubeless tyres that are encircled over elegant 17-inch alloy wheels. The braking duties are taken care of by twin 260mm petal disc brakes at the front and a single 240mm disc brake at the rear along with an Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) as a standard feature. The suspension system consists of 41 mm upside-down telescopic forks up front and mono shock absorber at the rear.
