About Honda Dream Yuga

Honda has launched the Dream Yuga with CBS (Combined Braking System), priced at Rs 54,807 (ex-showroom, Delhi). That's a premium of Rs 560 over the non-CBS variant. Apart from this, the bike remains unchanged. It gets sporty graphics, body-coloured rear view mirrors, rolling resistance tyres and a new colour scheme - black with Sunset brown. In terms of design, the Dream Yuga is virtually identical to its elder sibling, the Honda Shine. It features a no-nonsense design with a basic headlight, clear lens indicators, angular tail light, body-coloured grab rail, and an analogue instrument console featuring two round pods.

There are no changes on the mechanical front and the 2018 Dream Yuga continues to draw power from a 109.19cc, 4-stroke, air-cooled, BSIV-compliant engine that churns out max power of 8.40PS @ 7500rpm and a peak torque of 8.63Nm @ 5500rpm, mated to a 4-speed gearbox. The latest Dream Yuga is said to be more fuel efficient owing to the Honda Eco Technology (HET) tyres. It is claimed to return a mileage of 72kmpl and has a fuel tank capacity of 8 litres. Braking is handled by 130mm drum brakes at both ends which are attached to 18-inch alloy wheels. Suspension setup includes telescopic forks at the front and a hydraulic shock absorber at the rear.

Apart from the newly launched black with Sunset brown colour scheme, the bike is available in five more colours - Sports black, Vibrant blue, Majestic grey, All black and Sports red. The Dream Yuga rivals the Hero Passion series, the Hero Splendor Plus and the TVS Victor.

Dream Yuga Expert Review

Overview

Honda rolled out Dream Yuga followed by its two companions, Dream Neo and CD110 Deluxe in the 110cc commuter segment. It was launched to break the spell of Hero MotoCorp Splendor that dominated all the commuters with its inevitable performance and commendable durability.

Introduced with an aim of leading the commuter segment of the country, it is powered by a 109.19cc, four stroke, air-cooled engine mated to a four-speed gearbox. The motor produces a maximum power of 8.25bhp at 7,500rpm with a peak torque of 8.63Nm at 5,500rpm. The engine incorporates Honda Eco Technology (HET), which helps it deliver a decent mileage of 74kmpl.

Honda Dream Yuga moves on 80/100-18 sized front and rear tyres. The tuff-up tube comes in spoke variant only. It offers comfort via telescopic fork at the front and spring hydraulic type, 5-step adjustable shock absorbers at the rear. The braking is applied by 130mm drum brakes at both ends with CBS (Combined Braking System). Honda Dream Yuga is built on a Diamond shaped frame.

Honda Dream Yuga features a viscous air-filter which cuts down on maintenance cost. Body colored grab rails incorporated at the rear gives the 110cc commuter a stylish look. A black muffler with chrome-plated covers further adds to its appeal. A 3D Honda-Wing emblem at the fuel tank gives the bike a premium look. Stylish graphics perform their work well in the looks department. So, anyone going for a decent commuter bike with elegant looks, Dream Yuga should be considered definitely for its good aesthetics and fuel-efficient engine.

Design

Honda Dream Yuga carry the looks of a premium commuter motorcycle. Being in close resemblance with its elder mate, CB Shine, it comes with an impressive front profile having a smart headlamp with a body coloured front cowl. It has a neatly crafted fuel tank that sports a Honda 3D wing emblem. The company has fitted a well-cushioned and comfortable seat to benefit the rider and pillion with a stress free ride. As we approach the rear end, a nice touch of body coloured grab rail is given.

Apart from this, Dream Yuga receives a Honda Shine inspired triangular tail lamp section that looks enthralling along with the clear lens turning blinkers. The dimensions of this bike are 2,022mm x 733mm x 1,095mm (LxWxH). It has a wheelbase of 1,285mm with a minimum ground clearance of 169mm that offers good handling and stability. The bike is fitted with a 8 liter fuel tank, giving it a good range without refuelling. To handle the jerks and hurdles with ease, the bike is mounted with five-step adjustable shock absorbers at the rear. The combination of attractive graphics to its colour scheme make the bike looks more stylish. Instrument console of the bike is plain and simple that consists an analogue speedometer, fuel gauge and odometer.

Engine, Mileage & Performance

Honda Dream Yuga gets a four-stroke, air-cooled, SI engine that displaces 109.19cc. The mill is coupled with a four-speed gearbox and develops a maximum power of 8.25bhp at 7,500rpm with a peak torque of 8.63Nm at 5,500rpm. The same 110cc motor is employed in its companions, Honda CD 110 Dream and Honda Dream Neo as well. It uses wet multiplate clutch setup for the transmission of power and uses chain drive as the final mode of driving. The engine is further paired with Honda Eco Technology (HET) that ensures a quick acceleration and returns a commendable mileage of 74kmpl. With an 8 liter fuel tank capacity, the bike enables the rider to accomplish long distance runs without any halt.

Handling & Ride Quality

The bike is made on a diamond frame with engine as a sub member. It moves on 80/100-18 tubeless tyres at the front and rear that works well on all surfaces. The suspension system consists of telescopic forks at the front with spring loaded hydraulic shock absorbers at the rear that eases the journey by eating those bumps and hurdles effectively. The braking is controlled by 130mm drum brakes fitted at both ends aided by CBS.

Features

Honda Dream Yuga has a luminous 12V-35/35W headlight at the front that ensures visibility even on the darkest roads. Moreover, it comes with tubeless tyres that offer convenience by not getting flattened up in case of a puncture. These features make Honda Dream Yuga a worthy all-round package at a much affordable price.
