3779 Ather 450X Electric Scooters Sold In April 2022, Tallies 255 Percent Year-on-Year Growth
Ather had also rolled out a new SmartEco riding mode via an OTA update that month
Ather Energy’s monthly update reveals 3,779 units of the Ather 450X electric scooters have been sold in April. This is a massive 255 percent year-on-year growth over the same month last year. Even when compared to the sales in March 2022, the figures in April are up by 45.85 percent.
These figures are still a fraction of what a big player like Ola Electric tallies. But that said, Ola Electric also has the proper funding to back up its big numbers. Moreover, the semiconductor chip shortage has been affecting several manufacturers including Hero Electric. In fact, Chief Business Officer Ravneet S. Phokela, Ather Energy, said, “... the number of deliveries is a fraction of the pre-orders due to unprecedented challenges on the supply chain side including components shortage.” We hope Ather Energy is able to get around this crunch, and also ramp up its production soon, as the company still has a long way to meet the demand.
In April, Ather had also released an OTA update which introduced a new riding mode, called the SmartEco. You can read more about what exactly it does here. Additionally, Ather also partnered with EV charging network provider Statiq to enhance the charging infrastructure in the northern parts of India, particularly the NCR. The company had also teamed up with Park+, a parking solutions company, to provide charging networks in the NCR and Mumbai. The company also continued its expansion spree that month, bringing the total Experience Centers to 37, spread across 31 cities.
