Scooters have become increasingly popular over the years owing to their versatility. However, the pandemic hasn’t been kind to these, with sales of all popular models dipping in December 2021.

It seems Honda's Activa range is the country's darling, as it secured the first position on the chart yet again. However, as you see, it has registered a drop in sales numbers by 15.84 percent compared to November. In related news, the bikemaker recently launched the 2022 iteration of the CBR650R with a few cosmetic upgrades and a hefty premium.

At number two is the TVS Jupiter. The company recently launched the 125cc version of the scooter, which has also contributed to the overall sales. That said, much like the Activa, the Jupiter's monthly sales have gone down (by 13.59 percent). In related news, TVS recently expanded its Apache RTR 160 4V portfolio with the launch of the Apache RTR 165 RP, limited to only 200 units.

The Suzuki Access 125 has again ranked third, but monthly sales declined by a substantial 40.3 percent. The company recently updated the Access 125 with three new paint schemes: Metallic Dark Greenish Blue, Metallic Matte Black, and Glossy Grey, at no extra price.

The TVS NTorq 125 is at number four, but the story with the sporty 125cc scooter has been no different -- its month-on-month (MoM) sales took a beating by nearly 12 percent compared to November. To provide a fillip to the scooter's sales, TVS recently
launched the Spiderman and Thor editions with superhero-inspired graphics.

Last but not least is the Hero Pleasure, which toppled the Yamaha RayZR to come in at number five. However, like the preceding four, December sales of the Hero scooter declined (by 17.34 percent) compared to November. Last year, the company also launched the
XTec version of the scooter, which gets a Bluetooth-enabled instrument cluster with turn-by-turn navigation, a projector LED headlight, and some cosmetic updates.
