From flashy Indian cricketers to major Bollywood actors and even politicians, we saw them all at MotoGP Bharat 2023!
This weekend was one exciting one! Mainly because MotoGP graced Indian shores for the first time ever. And while seeing global racers battle it out on their exotic machines was incredible, there were quite a lot of superstars on the other side of the racetrack as well. So here’s a quick look at some famous Indian celebrities that turned up to watch BharatGP:
John Abraham
Arguably the least surprising name on this list is John Abraham. He’s been a motorcycle enthusiast since quite some time and in fact, a lot of people (including yours truly) fell in love with motorcycles because of the way the Bollywood hunk rode the mighty Suzuki Hayabusa in Dhoom. In fact, here’s a quick look at John Abraham's exquisite bike collection. What made things even better for John was the fact that he actually got a chance to ride the hot BMW M 1000 RR safety bike!
Yogi Adityanath
Next on the list was the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, who handed over the trophy to BharatGP winner Marco Bezzecchi. The way Bezzecchi clawed his way up the leaderboard was stunning to say the least and we’d recommend all of you to check out the highlights of the final race to see the Italian absolutely dominate the grid.
Here’s what Yogi Adityanath had to say about MotoGP Bharat 2023:

Yuvraj Singh
Swashbuckling ex-Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh made his presence felt at MotoGP Bharat 2023 by being one of the lucky people who got to flag the riders off. He was even escorted around on a special TVS NTorq 125. This beautifully designed NTorq 125 is actually a pit scooter made by Autologue Design (an Indian brand that makes custom kits for bikes) for the SAG racing team in Moto2.
Shikhar Dhawan
Another elegant left-hander at the MotoGP Bharat 2023 was Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan. While John Abraham’s love for motorcycles is an open secret, not many knew about Shikhar Dhawan being an auto enthusiast too, so that’s definitely a pleasant surprise.
Anurag Thakur
One final cricket connection was Anurag Thakur. The former BCCI president (current Minister of Sports, Youth Affairs and Minister of Information and Broadcasting) was also seen at MotoGP Bharat. India’s youth has been obsessed with cricket but now we’re happy that the attention is now slowly shifting to motorsports as well. And who better to be at a youthful sport than the Youth Affairs minister himself.
