Makes less power but is lighter too!

Ducati has unveiled the new and updated Panigale V2 and the V2 S at EICMA 2024, and compared to the outgoing Panigale V2 it has undergone a lot of changes. Now the bike offers lesser performance than before but is much lighter. Here’s everything you need to know.
The bike features a similar aggressive and sharp design language as the currently available Panigale V2, but the new one is a lot more sharper. The LED headlight setup looks a lot more sleeker than before, giving the bike a sharper look.
The fairing has also seen a few changes and now Ducati has added passive ventilation to it, which will make it easier for riders to ride at slower speeds without having to worry about heating issues. Another change is the usage of a new twin-exhaust setup, a big change from the older underbelly exhaust that the current Panigale V2 sports.
When it comes to performance, the new Panigale V2 is powered by a 890cc, liquid-cooled V-twin engine which outputs 121.6PS at 10,750rpm and 93.3Nm at 8,250rpm. Compared to the current Panigale V2, which, for perspective is powered by a 955cc, liquid-cooled, V-twin engine that produces 157.15 at 10,750rpm and 104Nm at 8,250rpm, the new one produces 35.55PS and 10.7Nm less.
Coming to the underpinnings, the new Panigale V2 features a fully adjustable 43 mm Marzocchi fork and a Kayaba shock, whereas the Panigale V2 S gets a 43 mm Öhlins NIX30 fork and an Öhlins shock. The Panigale V2 and the V2 S, rolls on 17-inch alloys at both ends with Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres, 120/70 at the front and 190/55 at the rear.
Braking duties are handled by a twin 320mm disc at the front with Brembo calipers and a 245mm disc at the rear. Compared to the current Panigale V2, the new V2 is lighter by 14kg and the V2 S is lighter by 17kg. Another interesting change with this update is the usage of a double-sided swingarm, instead of the single-sided one which the current bike offers.
In terms of features, the new V2 offers a 5-inch TFT console with 3 display modes: Road, Road Pro, and Track. Electronic riding aids on offer include: cruise control, traction control, cornering ABS, launch control and engine braking control.
The updated Panigale V2 and the Panigale V2 S could be launched in India sometime around next year.
