The company has tallied a 26% jump in sales compared to February

Ather Energy has released its sales numbers for March 2022. At 2,591 units, the company has recorded a growth of 26 percent over its sales in February. And in comparison with March 2021, Ather has tallied a healthy 120 percent year-on-year (YoY) growth.

The Bengaluru-based startup has been tallying triple-digit YoY growth for the last few months, though its overall sales have been hovering between just 2000 and 3000 in the last three months. The company also rolled out its 25,000th Ather 450X in March, and had inaugurated four new experience centers in Guwahati, Vijayawada, Tirupati and Bengaluru.

Its primary rival, Ola Electric, had delivered almost 7,000 units of the Ola S1 range in February, and the CEO had mentioned that the deliveries in March will more than double. Sure, Ola Electric has massive financial backing and resources in hand. But Ather will still have to step up its game when it comes to production and sales if it has to stay on top of things.

In January this year, Ather received a funding of Rs 420 crore from Hero MotoCorp, and the bikemaker will also be increasing its stake from the existing 34.8 percent. Hero is also working on its own electric sub brand ‘Vida’, and shall be launching the first Hero electric scooter in July. Bajaj is working on a range of electric scooters under the Chetak sub brand as well.
