Ather 450X Witnesses A Price Hike of Rs 8,000
Compared to the revised price of Rs 1.45 Lakh with the subsidy confusion in April, the price has gone up by Rs 20,000
The prices of Ather e-scooters have gone up as the Central Government has reduced the Fame 2 (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles) subsidy. The subsidy benefit is down to Rs 10,000 from Rs 15,000 per kWh, with a maximum cap of 15 percent, down from 40 percent of the ex-showroom price of the vehicle. As a result, electric vehicles have witnessed a steep price hike.
The Ather 450X (Pro Pack), with the revised Fame 2 subsidy, is now dearer by Rs 8,000 compared to prices in March and by Rs 20,000 compared to prices in April. The Fame 2 subsidy was never a long-term solution, but it did reduce the upfront buying cost substantially. And Ather Energy is not the only brand that has revised its pricing. While TVS has hiked the prices of the iQube and iQube S, Ola Electric has not only revised the pricing of its S1 lineup but has also removed a few variants within its S1 electric scooter range.
