Ather Energy Sales Surge In January 2022
And the company has also signed an MoU with the Electric Supply Companies of Karnataka to create a viable charging ecosystem in the state
The rising sales figures of EV makers are testimony to the increased adoption of electric two-wheelers with each passing day. Case in point Ather Energy, which successfully delivered 2,825 Ather 450 scooters in January, a 336% YoY surge.
A lot of the credit for this surge in sales goes to the company’s expanding dealership and charging ecosystem. Ather currently has 29 retail stores in 24 cities with over 300 fast charging Ather Grid points across the country.
Moreover, the company recently signed an MoU with Electric Supply Companies of Karnataka, which should provide a fillip to EV adoption. According to the MoU, the companies will set up 1,000 fast-charging points for electric two-wheelers across the state, creating a viable charging ecosystem.
The company already has 58 fast-charging Ather Grid stations in Karnataka and plans to set up over 5,000 of these across India in the coming years.
We reckon this MoU can provide a tentative blueprint for other companies, which eventually will benefit customers and accelerate mass adoption of EVs.
The Ather 450 is currently priced at Rs 1,09,311 (for the 'Plus' variant) and Rs 1,28,321 (450X). However, if the Athers don’t cut it for you, you can also check out the Ola S1 and the TVS iQube Electric.
