Ather Rizta Battery Teased: Here’s What The Family Electric Scooter Will Be Packing

Modified On Mar 13, 2024 03:10 PM By Govind for Ather Rizta

The battery pack survived a drop of 40 feet or 4 stories!

(Update: Ather Energy has launched the all-new Ather Rizta family scooter. Check out the details in our launch story here.)

Ather Energy co-founder Swapnil Jain took to social media to release a teaser that shows the battery pack that will be used on the upcoming Ather Rizta family electric scooter. The teaser featured one of Ather’s engineers, Shreyas Seethapathi, conducting a drop test of the battery pack.

For the drop test the battery pack was dropped from a height of 40 feet, equivalent to 4 stories. The battery pack was able to survive the impact without any damage. It was able to handle this drop test because it is built on high pressure die-cast aluminum technology which makes it strong enough to withstand such impacts.

The batteries on electric scooters have to be strong enough to withstand all kinds of pressures as the scooter will be going through bumps, potholes and bad roads in general.

We expect the e-scooter to come at a price of 1.30 lakh (ex-showroom including FAME 2 subsidy) and after launch it will go up against other TVS iQube, Hero Vida V1 Pro and Bajaj Chetak.
