The Bajaj Freedom 125 CNG bike was launched recently and last week, the deliveries of the bike had begun. Currently it is only available in the states of Gujarat and Maharashtra. In the recently concluded Q1 Earnings Call, the brand had announced that the bike will next be made available in Delhi and Kerala.
Customers in Kerala and Delhi can expect to see the bike being made available in their markets by the end of this year. Bajaj has also stated that they received 4200 pan India bookings since the bike’s launch, with 90% of bookings coming from Maharashtra and Gujarat. As stated above, deliveries of the bike have already begun and customers in Maharashtra are the first ones to receive their bikes.
Currently the brand has a manufacturing capacity of 10,000 units per month and Bajaj plans to expand it to 40,000 units. This will help the brand in meeting the growing demand once the bike is made available in more states in the coming months.
Additionally, Bajaj had also revealed that they plan on exporting the Freedom 125 CNG bike to 6 countries with widespread CNG infrastructure, and this expansion of production capacity will help meet those needs as well.
Another thing that was revealed by the brand in this earnings call was that ‘Freedom’ is a portfolio brand like Pulsar, hinting that we could see more CNG bikes down the line. We can expect to see a scaled down version of the bike or even a scaled up one, so far the brand hasn’t said anything on this.
