Bajaj Auto has announced a price cut for the Freedom 125 bike, less than 6 months after its launch. The Freedom is the world’s first CNG powered motorcycle.
Price Cuts
The base variant of the Bajaj Freedom 125 has received a price cut of Rs 5,000 and the middle of the pack, drum LED version has received a Rs 10,000 discount. The price slash brings the effective starting price of the bike to Rs 89,997 for the base model and Rs 95,002 for the drum LED variant. The range topping version however remains priced the same at Rs 1,10,000 (ex-showroom).
Engine
The Bajaj Freedom 125 is powered by a 124.58cc, air-cooled, sloper engine that produces 9.5PS at 8,000rpm and a peak torque of 9.7Nm at 6,000rpm. The engine is paired with a 5-speed gearbox. The motorcycle is built on a trellis frame, with the CNG tank housed within the rear sub-frame.
Fuel Switch
Despite being a CNG bike, the Freedom 125 can run on both CNG and petrol. Riders can switch between the two fuel options using a toggle switch on the handlebar. The key highlight of the motorcycle is its lower running costs, delivering a claimed fuel efficiency of 102km/kg in CNG mode and 65km/l when running purely on petrol.
