We were still confused about the launch of the Bajaj Pulsar 200 SS and 400 SS in India, while the lower capacity has been already unveiled in Turkey. So, it is clear that the Bajaj Pulsar 200 SS will be launched first in Turkey and then in India, might be in the first quarter of 2015.
The 200 SS is based on the platform of Pulsar 200 NS, however, it looks far different with an all new body work including the front fairing, rear panels, fuel tank, headlights and tail lamp unit.
Propelling the bike is the same 199.5cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, 4-valve engine, which powers the 200 NS in India with the triple-spark technology. However, the 200 SS uses FI powertrain like the Export version of the Pulsar 200 NS. Maximum power and torque figures of the engine remains unchanged at 23.1bhp and 18.3Nm respectively.
The Bajaj Pulsar 200 SS also shares mechanical equipment like suspension set-up, wheels and brakes with the 200 NS. The faired version also features ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), which might be optional in India.
We have already seen the bike in Yellow-White, dual tone paint scheme, however, the model unveiled in Turkey will be available in two more options- Red-White and Blue-White taking the similar pattern.
The upcoming Bajaj Pulsar 200 SS will be priced comparatively to the Hero MotoCorp Karizma ZMR and Yamaha R15. It will also compete with some higher cost motorcycles like Honda CBR250R and KTM RC 200.
