It seems that the home grown manufacturer Bajaj Auto Limited (BAL), is now back on the track of sales growth. After loosing the position of second largest two wheeler brand in India, the company was showing a negative or rather neutral growth in terms of unit sales till April, 2014. However, May month ended with good news for Bajaj - a 3 percent MoM hike in its motorcycle sales. Continuing on the positive path, the company recorded a consistent sales growth of 3 percent again in June, 2014.
The company managed to sell-out 2,62,202 units of motorcycles in the month of June, 2014 against the 254,544 units sold during the June, 2013. The consistent growth for two months lead Bajaj to record a growth of 2 percent growth in Q1 of 2015. It is the first positive quarter for the company after four negative quarters of financial year 2014.
To take its title back from the Japanese auto maker- Honda, Bajaj is looking forward to rework its past strategies. The company is making more and more products on a single platform covering almost every price range in the market. It is also working on improvement of its product quality and to further add some class leading technologies and features in them.
We have seen 5 new models in Discover series and 1 new model in Pulsar series within 2 years. All of them were based on completely new platforms. All these motorcycles use advance 4-valve engine design with DTS-i technology (triple-spark in Pulsar 200NS) to deliver best-in-class performance and efficiency. The company also has 2 new flagship models in pipeline- Pulsar SS400 (faired) and CS400 (naked), along with a semi faired bike in Discover line-up- 125F. The faired Pulsar is expected to be launched this year, while the naked version might come sometime next year.
