BREAKING: 2025 Kawasaki Ninja 1100SX Launched In India

To get a bigger engine which produces more torque but less power

Kawasaki has launched the new Ninja 1100SX in India, starting at Rs 13,49,000 (ex-showroom). The sports tourer features a bigger 1,099cc engine and fills the gap left after the Ninja 1000SX was discontinued. For perspective, the Ninja 1000SX was priced at about Rs 12.19 lakh, before it was discontinued in March 2024. 

What It Gets?

The Kawasaki Ninja 1100SX comes with a 1,099cc, liquid-cooled, inline-4 engine that makes 136PS at 9,000rpm and 113Nm at 7,600rpm, paired with a six-speed gearbox and a slip-and-assist clutch. Whereas, the Ninja 1000SX had a 1,043cc engine making 140PS and 111Nm, which is 4PS more and 2Nm less than the Ninja 1100SX. But, Kawasaki says that the peak power and torque are now available earlier in the rev range and the bike also gets a longer 5th and 6th gear as well which should help with highway riding.

In terms of features, the Ninja 1100SX features a 4.3-inch TFT instrument console with smartphone connectivity via the Rideology app. The console also has 2 display modes. The Ninja 1100SX also gets an updated bi-directional quickshifter, which could be smoother than the one on the Ninja 1000SX. Kawasaki says that the changes will increase low-end performance and provide better mileage as well.

The Ninja 1100SX also comes with three-level traction control, full and low power modes, electronic cruise control and four ride modes: Sport, Road, Rain or Rider. It also has a type C charging port as standard.

The Kawasaki Ninja 1100SX gets a twin-tube aluminium frame. It has a 41mm inverted fork with compression and rebound damping and preload adjustability (120mm wheel travel) and a gas-charged monoshock with rebound damping, and preload adjustability (141mm wheel travel). 

The braking setup consists of 300mm dual front discs and a 260mm rear disc, with dual-channel ABS as standard. The bike has 17-inch wheels on both ends, wrapped with 120-section front and 190-section rear tubeless tyres. The Ninja 1100SX has a 19-litre fuel tank, 820mm seat height, 135mm ground clearance and a kerb weight of 238kg.

The Kawasaki Ninja 1100SX does not have any direct rivals; however, the Ducati SuperSport 950, Suzuki Katana and BMW F900 XR are available in a similar price range.
