Though the new prices have made the Ather Energy electric scooters a tad affordable, it is still on the expensive side. In fact, its nemesis, Simple Energy, promised to price its Mark 2 electric scooter between Rs 1.10 lakh to Rs 1.20 lakh before the revision in FAME-II subsidy was announced. So the Bengaluru-based start-up may now price its e-scooter even more competitively.
Meanwhile, Ather Energy has continued with its aggressive expansion streak. Tarun Mehta, CEO of the company, has even announced that Ather Energy has plans to expand to 30 new cities in the next six months. Considering the rocketing fuel prices, the Ather scooters will surely find more takers.
