A new addition to the already competitive midsize adventure tourer segment in India?
- The test mule was spotted testing in Hyderabad.
- Seems to be road-biased.
- Will go up against the Benelli TRK 502 and the Kawasaki Versys 650
Chinese bikemaker CFMoto has been gearing up to enter the Indian market. Or at least, that’s what the latest spy images tell us. After the street naked 250NK, it is the 650MT which has been spied testing on the streets of Hyderabad.

So what are we in for? A no-nonsense motorcycle focused mostly towards touring with its large windscreen, alloy wheels, USD forks and an 18-litre fuel tank. Powering it is a 649.3cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine which makes 70PS of power at 8,750rpm and 62Nm of torque at 7000rpm, mated to a 6-speed gearbox. To put things into perspective, the Kawasaki Versys 650 churns out 69PS of power.
As mentioned earlier, suspension duties here are handled by USD forks at the front with 140mm of travel and a monoshock unit at the back, with 145mm of travel. Braking hardware consists of two 300mm discs at the front and a single 240mm disc at the rear. From what we can see, its 17-inch alloy wheels are shod with road-biased Metzeler M5s on both ends (front - 120/70 rear - 160/60).
We expect CFMoto to bring the motorcycle here via the CKD route. This will help it in pricing it competitively, at par with the current crop of midsize adventure tourers. If we had to guess, expect it to cost somewhere around Rs 5 to 6 lakh (ex-showroom), which will place it right in the middle of the newly launched Benelli TRK 502 and the Kawasaki Versys 650.
