Commuter bikes demand going down

Indian two wheeler market is the world's second largest after China and entry-level/commuter bikes have been remained hot cake. But some static reports are telling that that demand for Entry-Level two-wheelers is decreasing. And this decrement was seen in the sales figure of January 2011 against same month of year 2010.
As per the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), 75 cc to 125cc bikes demand is going down. The market share of Entry-level bikes were 58 per cent in the year of 2010 and now it is 53 per cent in this year. It means the demand for premium bike is increasing over entry level.
Baja Auto which has Bajaj Pulsar, Bajaj Dicover, Bajaj Platina flagship models seeing the decrement in the 100cc bikes and demand for the above 150cc bike is growing. While Demand for Hero Honda Karizma, Hero Honda Hunk, Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme is growing.
HMSI which has Honda CB Twister, Honda Stunner, Honda Dazzler and Honda Unicorn is getting buzz response form 150cc bikes while Honda CBR 250R is the first choice of young generation; the CBR 250R is going to be launched in the month April this year. On the other hand, TVS is to bring up its TVS Apache RTR 180. Now the company is launching this bike with ABS while bigger TVS Apache and Bajaj Pulsar 250 are in the waiting list.
