December started with a slew of new reveals!
The 1st week of December, the last month of 2024 has been pretty busy, with a lot of unveils, launches, teases and announcements happening. Here’s a list of the main highlights and news from this week, just in case you missed it:
Lectrix Nduro:
The week started off with the launch of the Lectrix Nduro electric scooter. It was launched at Rs 59,999 (ex-showroom). It is offered in 2 variants, with the battery capacity varying between them. The 2.3kWh version delivers a claimed range of 90km on a single charge and the 3kWh model promises a 117km claimed range, both according to IDC (Indian Driving Conditions).
Vida V2:
Next of the launches in this week, also in the electric scooter segment, was the launch of the Vida V2. Vida is Hero MotoCorp’s electric sub-brand. The Vida V2 has been launched at a price lower than its predecessor, the Vida V1. Prices range from RS 96,000 to 1,35,000. It now also offers more range.
2025 KTM 390 Adventure S & 390 Enduro R
The upcoming KTM 390 Adventure S and KTM 390 Enduro S made their official India debut at the India Bike Week 2024. The Enduro had already been revealed at EICMA 2024 this year, in Milan. We still don’t know the specs and pricing of these models. A launch in January is expected.
New 300cc TVS Engine
Perhaps the most unexpected launch was the unveiling of the ‘TVS RT-XD4 300’. It is a brand new 299.1cc, 4-valve, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine from the manufacturer. It produces 35PS, 28.5Nm, and is paired to a 6-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch. We expect that TVS will use this motor in their hotly anticipated upcoming adventure bike.
Next-gen Bajaj Chetak
Wrapping the news roundup, is the upcoming next-gen Bajaj Chetak electric scooter. They had teased on their social media handles that an all new Chetak will be launching on December 20. Details are very scarce, but we believe that this new Chetak will solve one of its biggest shortcomings, the underseat boot space. It might also get a bigger battery, placed under the floorboard; this will boost its range.
