A group of students from Eindhoven University created an electric motorcycle named STORM pulse. The bike can run 380 kms on a single charge, just 16.09 km short of Tesla model X (electric SUV car) and 40.23kms short of Tesla’s latest model S 85D.

The new electric bike is capable of going 0-60 miles per hour in less than 5 seconds and can gain a top speed of 160 kmph, which is considered till now the best among all the electric bikes currently in the market. The bike gets its power from a battery pack, which holds 28.5 kWh of energy and is very easy to swap. The battery can be changed in seven minutes and it charges 80 percent in 38 minutes of plug in.

The bike STORM Pulse was created by the students of the Eindhoven University of Technology in Netherlands and to demonstrate machine’s potential, students will participate in an 80-day race starting from April 2017 in Paris heading to China. The main motive of the race is to travel the world in 80 days without any fossil fuel. The trip will be of 40,000 kms and a group of volunteers will provide plug-in points on the way to recharge the batteries. "To be able to do that, you could say one has entered territory that was previously reserved for Tesla only," as mentioned on their website.

While another team of students from the same university working have created a solar powered car which can run 600 miles on a single charge.
