It will be the first cruiser based on Royal Enfield’s 650cc platform
Looks like Royal Enfield is really putting its upcoming cruiser bike through its paces as the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 has been spied testing, once again.
There is no doubt that the twin-cylinder motorcycle gets a quintessential cruiser-like styling with its teardrop-shaped fuel tank, wide handlebars, forward-set footpegs and an upright seating posture. As for the underpinnings, it flaunts an inverted fork, a departure from what we’ve seen on the current Royal Enfield bikes. There are twin shocks at the rear, while braking is handled by discs at both ends.

More importantly, the Super Meteor 650 will be powered by the familiar 648cc, parallel-twin, air-oil-cooled mill that we’ve seen on the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650, making 47.6PS and 52Nm. The bike was also spotted testing abroad with accessories earlier this year, so we expect it to get a slew of accessories, including touring-friendly ones, in typical Royal Enfield fashion.
The test mule looks ready to hit the production line and is expected to debut by mid-2023. It could be priced around the Rs 3.5 lakh (ex-showroom) mark, which could make it the marque’s most expensive offering. Once here, it’ll act as a more affordable alternative to the Kawasaki Vulcan S.
