Fame II Effect - Hero Electric Scooters Are Now More Affordable
The Optima HX and Nyx HX e-scooters are now cheaper by upto Rs 17,000!
The recent revisions in the FAME-II subsidy have come as a boon to electric two-wheeler manufacturers and consumers. After Ather Energy, TVS, Ampere, Revolt Motors and Okinawa, Hero Electric has revised the pricing of its e-scooters. Here’s what the current pricing looks like:
Model |
New Price |
Old Price |
Price Difference |
Nyx HX (Dual Battery) |
Rs 62,954 |
Rs 79,990 |
Rs 17,036 |
Optima HX (Single Battery) |
Rs 53,600 |
Rs 61,640 |
Rs 8,040 |
Optima HX (Dual Battery) |
Rs 58,980 |
Rs 74,660 |
Rs 15,680 |
The Hero Electric Nyx, the brand’s commercial e-scooter, has benefitted the most from the FAME-II revisions, dropping the price by a massive Rs 17,036. With a claimed range of 165km and a top speed of 42kmph, the Nyx becomes a viable alternative to the petrol-sipping alternatives for delivery-oriented businesses. The other high-speed offerings from the manufacturer, Optima HX, in single battery as well as dual battery variants too have received a significant drop in prices.

However, Hero Electric’s portfolio consists of as many as six low-speed electric scooters which do not benefit from the new regulations. With the price revisions, the low-speed scooters like Optima LX, Flash LX, and Nyx LX have now come eerily close to the premium offerings.
The FAME-II benefits have certainly given the EV industry a much-needed boost. And besides, the recently announced policy on electric vehicles by the Gujarat government could make the overall experience that much sweeter.
