Hero Electric E-scooters Will Now Have Made-In-India Battery Packs

Modified On Nov 21, 2022 05:01 PM By Ishan Lee for Hero Electric Optima

Company claims the new chemistry meets all the latest government regulations for EVs

The year 2022 is almost at its end. We feel it will be remembered as the year when EV brands grew rapidly, made mistakes, came under new guidelines and started working on viable solutions. Like many others including Ola, Hero Electric too is making the shift to indigenously developed battery packs with the help of Battrixx, a company specialising in manufacturing Lithium-ion Battery Packs.

Hero Electric has stated that these new battery packs have been imagined and designed in-house but will be rolled out with the help of Battrixx's advanced cell chemistry. Hero Electric is targeting to deliver three lakh battery packs and chargers over a period of 12 months. It claims these batteries meet the latest government compliance and feature a two-way communication module between the vehicle, controller, battery, and charger.

Safer batteries have become the need of the hour for EV makers to ensure their products are compatible with Indian climatic conditions and will not pose a risk to human lives. Locally made batteries should help brand Hero Electric offer more reliable products while also availing government grants for being vocal for local.
