Hero Electric Unveils AE-3 e-Trike At Auto Expo 2020

Modified On Feb 5, 2020 03:16 PM By Praveen M. for Hero Electric AE-3

It’s the first-of-its-kind for Hero Electric!

The company intends to offer the scooter in the Business 2 Business (B2B) segment. It comes with a gyroscope for enhanced stability and an auto-balance park switch. Hero claims it can cover 100km in one charge and juice up in five hours.

Hero Electric surprised us with the unveiling of the AE-3 electric trike at Auto Expo 2020. This first-of-its-kind electric three-wheeler is intended for B2B applications (Business to Business). However, considering its inherently complex construction and dynamics, it is likely to command a premium price tag.

Hero Electric says the AE-3 uses a 5.5W electric motor connected to a 4kWh lithium-ion battery pack. Power is sent to the rear wheel via a belt drive with a large pulley. The e-trike offers a claimed range of 100km and a top speed of 80kmph. The company says it will take five hours to charge completely.

The Hero Electric AE-3 e-trike is capable of balancing at standstill with the help of the gyroscope-enabled auto-balance park switch. It comes with a sophisticated twin telescopic fork front suspension with a disc brake on each wheel. The rear comes with a twin gas-charged suspension setup and a petal disc.

It also comes with a fully digital instrument cluster, mobile charger, walk assist, reverse assist (claimed to be up to 26kmph), app connectivity with real-time tracking and geo-fencing.
