It now gets the 160cc engine from Vario instead of previous 150cc one
Honda has launched the 6th generation of the Airblade scooter. The biggest change lies in the engine, as the 160cc engine from the Honda Vario 160 has now replaced the 150cc one. There are slight changes in the design of the scooter as well. The new engine now pumps out 15.2PS and 14.2Nm which actually makes it 0.2PS and 0.3Nm more than the Yamaha Aerox 155.
As for the design, the scooter gets a sporty front bumper. The rest of the design is similar to the old version.
Honda claims to have overhauled the previous chassis with a new frame. The revised chassis is not only lighter, but it has also helped in increasing the boot carrying capacity. The capacity has gone up from 22.7 litres to 23.2 litres and it’s claimed that the boot can now also fit two half helmets. Honda has not only given a light in the boot, but you can also charge your phone in it.
As for the features, the Airblade gets a digital instrument cluster and a smart key. It’s equipped with ABS at the front and a drum brake at the rear.
The new Blade in its latest iteration, retails at 55,990,000 VND (approximately Rs 1.87 lakh) is definitely not cheap. For now, the scooter probably won’t be making its way to the Indian market. If you’re looking for a performance oriented scooter, you could have a look at the Yamaha Aerox 155, Aprilia SXR 160.
